Production Operations Specialist
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Report to: Shop Manager
Objective:
The Production Operations Specialist plays a key role in managing the day-to-day workflow of the fabrication shop. This hands-on position is responsible for overseeing material preparation, cutting, and coordination of production tasks to ensure operations run smoothly, efficiently, and to standard. The role is essential in balancing cost, quality, and speed that will support a safe and productive work environment. Working closely with the Shop Manager, the Production Operations Specialist helps maintain quality, meet deadlines, and keep production on track.
Responsibilities:
· Operate and maintain cutting equipment, including CNC, Parks Industries, and other shop tools.
· Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and measurements to prepare materials accurately.
· Cut and prep granite, quartz and other solid surface materials to spec.
· Coordinate with the Shop Manager to plan daily workflow and production priorities.
· Ensure all production meets quality and safety standards.
· Perform basic equipment maintenance.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace.
· Assist in loading, unloading, and staging materials for fabrication or installation.
· Support continuous improvement efforts to boost shop efficiency and productivity.
· Contribute to a positive team environment and support coworkers as needed.
Requirements:
· Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or shop environment.
· Skilled in operating CNC machines, saws, and other cutting/fabrication tools.
· Familiarity with stone and solid surface materials.
· Ability to read shop drawings, blueprints, and precise measurements.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
