Location: Val-d'Or, Quebec
Reports to: Sr. Sales Manager Eastern Provinces, Thurston Machine Inc.
Objective and Scope:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting Thurston Machine Inc. and its global suppliers throughout a defined territory (Val-d'Or, surrounding area, and Northwestern Ontario). The role is focused on developing new business, nurturing existing client relationships, and growing market share for our industrial equipment lines.
Responsibilities:
- Promote Thurston Machine Inc. and supplier offerings to customers, resellers, and engineering firms.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities using creative sales techniques.
- Build and maintain long-term client and agent relationships.
- Provide equipment solutions tailored to client needs.
- Conduct presentations, lunch-and-learns, and represent the company at tradeshows.
- Travel regularly throughout the region to meet with clients and understand their operations.
- Support existing agents and evaluate their sales efforts.
- Communicate clearly in English and French via email, phone, and in-person.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Degree, diploma, or certification in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial or technical sales, ideally within mining or mineral processing industries.
- Bilingual (French and English) communication required.
- Knowledge of vendor procurement and supply chain channels.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Skills and Competencies:
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable discussing equipment specifications and applications.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Confident public speaker with presentation and facilitation experience.
- Self motivated, goal oriented and driven to surpass goals
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Able to travel regularly with a valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
