Reports to: Board of Directors

 

Objective and Scope

The President is responsible for leading RAP Saskatoon’s overall strategy, operations, financial sustainability, and community presence. Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Board Chair, this role ensures RAP’s programs are effectively delivered, aligned with the organization’s mission, and supported by strong governance, sound financial management, and clear operational priorities.

The scope of the role is both strategic and hands-on. The President will work closely with the Board, staff, Facilitators, school partners, funders, donors, Rotary, government, and community stakeholders to strengthen RAP’s impact, support program growth, lead fundraising and partnership development, and position the organization for long-term sustainability.

 

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Management

  • Lead the implementation of RAP’s strategic plan and organizational priorities
  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership across the organization
  • Support and develop staff while fostering a collaborative and accountable workplace culture
  • Identify opportunities for organizational growth, partnerships, and community impact
  • Assess operational risks and implement mitigation strategies when necessary
  • Ensure strong communication and alignment across the organization
  • Represent RAP as the organization’s primary spokesperson and public representative

Program Oversight

  • Support excellence in program delivery and ongoing program evaluation
  • Implement systems to measure program effectiveness and community impact
  • Work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders to continuously strengthen programming
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with youth-centered and community organizations

Fundraising & Community Engagement

  • Lead fundraising initiatives and donor stewardship strategies
  • Research and pursue grant and funding opportunities
  • Maintain existing fundraising initiatives while identifying new revenue opportunities
  • Build and strengthen relationships with donors, community leaders, school divisions, government, and stakeholders
  • Support RAP’s communications, awareness, and external presence within the community

Financial Leadership & Governance

  • Work collaboratively with the Treasurer and Finance Committee on budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Monitor organizational financial performance and provide reporting to the Board
  • Ensure responsible financial stewardship and internal controls
  • Support financial review and audit processes
  • Assist the Board with governance responsibilities, reporting, and Board materials
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of Board committees as appropriate

Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, funding agreements, and organizational policies
  • Maintain organizational records, agreements, and documentation
  • Oversee organizational insurance and administrative requirements
  • Ensure Memoranda of Understanding and partnership agreements remain current and properly managed

 

Requirements

  • Experience in a senior leadership role with organizational oversight responsibilities
  • Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors
  • Fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, or campaign management experience
  • Financial management experience including budgeting, reporting, and oversight
  • Experience building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community organizations
  • Strategic planning and organizational development experience
  • Experience within community-based, non-profit, education, youth-focused, or mission-driven organizations would be considered an asset
  • Experience working with government, school divisions, or community partnerships would be highly valuable
