Scope:

Reports to: Board of Directors

Reports: Vice President of Creative, Vice President of Strategic Development, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Vice President of Account Planning, and Media Director of Finance and Administration

Full-time Agency with expectations of travel.

 

Objective:

As President you will lead a team known for excellence, creativity, and collaboration. Working closely with the executive team the President oversees and shapes all aspects of the business. Your focus will be on the agency’s long-term success and lasting client relationships. Your vision will shape the agency’s product and its corporate strategy.

 

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic and operational plans aligned with long-term agency goals, market trends, and core values.
  • Guide and support the executive team in driving operational effectiveness, creative excellence, and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Inspire confidence in the agency’s long-term vision, providing stability and reassurance to the outgoing leadership and fostering a smooth transition.
  • Be a present and active leader—setting the tone, motivating teams, and cultivating a workplace where people are excited to come to work.
  • Introduce fresh perspectives to a legacy executive team, mentoring senior leaders, identifying talent gaps, and supporting long-term succession planning.
  • Foster a values-driven, inclusive culture that promotes innovation, accountability, and professional growth at all levels.
  • Establish a culture of respectful accountability—encouraging high performance while supporting individual development and team cohesion.
  • Monitor organizational performance and adjust strategies to maintain focus, productivity, and resilience during times of change.


Financial Operations

  • Provide strong financial leadership to ensure fiscal responsibility, sustainable growth, and increased EBITDA.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning in collaboration with the finance team and senior leadership.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual results, which are shared with stakeholders.
  • Monitor the financial health of all service lines to make informed decisions that support innovation and long-term sustainability.
  • Uphold compliance with all legal, fiscal, and fiduciary obligations, maintaining the organization’s reputation for financial integrity.

 

Client Relations and Business Development

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and partner to key clients while fostering strong relationships and ensuring consistent service excellence.
  • Represent the Phoenix Group in industry and the broader community to enhance its reputation and thought leadership.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for impactful client pitches, proposals, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities that align with the agency's capabilities.
  • Stay attuned to market trends to promote innovation and the evolution of client services.
  • Champion a client-focused culture rooted in integrity, responsiveness, and long-term partnership.

 

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, and/or ten plus years of experience in executive-level leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading teams in an innovative, positive, employee-centric culture.
  • Strong business acumen and financial acumen, with a proven track record of positive fiscal responsibility.
  • Proven ability to build trusted client relationships, drive strategic business growth, and uphold the organization’s brand and reputation.

  • Meet or exceed financial, operational, and strategic goals as set by the Board and leadership team.
  • Drive sustained growth in profitability, EBITDA, and company value.
  • Maintain high levels of team performance, retention, and engagement.
  • Increase new business win rate and ensure strong client satisfaction and retention.
  • Achieve agency productivity targets, including 80% billable hours.
