WHO IS THE RUH FOUNDATION?

The Royal University Hospital (RUH) Foundation is one of Saskatchewan’s most trusted and impactful philanthropic organizations. Since 1983, it has raised and invested over $183 million to advance ground-breaking research, world-class medical education, and life-saving patient care at Royal University Hospital, Saskatchewan’s leading academic and acute care hospital.

As the heart of health innovation in the province, RUH serves the most critically ill and complex patients from across Saskatchewan. The Foundation is vital in ensuring that RUH remains a center of excellence, collaborating closely with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, The Ministry of Health and our generous donor community to turn bold visions into life-changing realities. WHY WORK FOR RUH FOUNDATION?

At the RUH Foundation, you’re not just raising funds, you’re shaping the future of health care in this province. You’ll join a collaborative team that believes in the power of philanthropy to change lives and create a workplace grounded in kindness, curiosity, professionalism, and purpose.

Here, people are trusted and ideas are encouraged. Whether you're securing the support of a first-time donor or working with an established major donor, your work has real meaning and visible results. Alongside a competitive total rewards package, you’ll work with people who care deeply about the mission and each other and build a culture where passion and positivity thrive.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Chief Development Officer (CDO) at the RUH Foundation, you’ll lead a passionate, high-performing team committed to transforming health care in Saskatchewan through the power of philanthropy. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the senior leadership team, you’ll shape and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, planned giving, annual campaigns, and corporate partnerships.

You will personally manage a portfolio of major donors and lead strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward significant philanthropic support. You build and steward meaningful relationships while strengthening partnerships with foundations, corporations, and community leaders.

THE IDEAL FIT

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for someone who combines strategic insight with hands-on fundraising expertise. You are a relationship builder—an inspiring, values-driven leader who communicates authentically and clearly, whether in one-on-one conversations or public settings. With strong interpersonal and organizational skills, you can build a culture of fundraising excellence while leading and motivating high-performing teams.

You bring proven success in making large, strategic asks and navigating complex donor relationships with professionalism, empathy, and persistence. You've led major gift conversations and closed transformational gifts and understand what it takes to earn lasting donor trust. Grounded in ethical fundraising practices, you offer strong campaign leadership and stewardship experience, ideally within a health care context. A relevant degree, CFRE designation, and working knowledge of donor management systems and CRA guidelines are strong assets.

If you’re ready to be part of something truly meaningful, where your fundraising expertise directly impacts the health and well-being of an entire province, then we’d love to hear from you.
